My Story
Abigail Clear has been a student of music her entire life. In college, she majored in the rigorous Music Education program at the University of Indianapolis. She has played in community ensembles, such as the South Bend Youth Symphony Orchestra, Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra, Indiana Wind Symphony Band, and the Brazil Concert Band. Throughout her success with strings, percussion, and voice, there was always piano. She never had to be told to practice, but rather, she had to be told it was time to rest. When she was asked why she wanted to teach music, she replied, "I want to teach children to love what I love." She loves incorporating music into her life and enjoys having leadership roles with music in the church. She currently is the administrative assistant at University Heights UMC, where she gets to use her voice in the decision-making process for each service. She is on the path in creating a new community at University Heights UMC, where she'll get to create students of music who share her love and passion for making the world sound beautiful! She is excited to have answered a call to music ministry where she will get to build community, foster creative expression, and provide equitable access to the arts for children in our region.
